HOW YOU AND I CAN WORK TOGETHER

The Initial Consulation
Before undertaking any representation, it is my practice to have an initial consultation with each prospective client for which there is a charge of $500. The initial consultation generally lasts in excess of one hour and provides me with an opportunity to learn about your needs and concerns. Before the conclusion of the consultation, I will provide you with my recommendation of how you should address your employment issue(s), either on your own or with my assistance.
.
Retention After Consultation
After the initial consultation and depending on the nature of the matter, I can be retained to address your employment issues in one of the following ways:

Hourly Retention
I can be retained on an hourly basis for all matters.

Modified Contingency
For severance negotiations, only, I represent clients on a modified contingency basis. Under this retainer structure, I receive a reduced hourly fee plus a percentage of the increase in the total severance benefit offered to you after I have been retained.

Under either retainer arrangement, I require an initial retainer to be placed in escrow and applied towards the hourly charges and expenses.
.

Litigation and Arbitration
In the event that you need my services in connection with a litigation or arbitration proceeding, I generally limit the retainer arrangement to hourly, although in certain matters where I feel it is appropriate I will consider a modified contingency arrangement. A larger initial retainer is required before litigation or arbitration work begins.
